ST Consult (Thames Valley) Celebrates its First Anniversary

Southern Testing are pleased to celebrate the 1-year anniversary of our regional office at Hannington, near Basingstoke. The office, which opened in May 2017, trades under the name of ST Consult Thames Valley.

The office has a wonderful setting and, as with Creaton, comprises a converted farm building in the village of Hannington, near the village green and next door to the historic All Saints Church.  Hannington is located within the North Hampshire Downs in an area designated as Outstanding Natural Beauty.

ST Consult Thames Valley enjoys the benefit of being set within pleasant rural farmland, but with good communication links to the core business areas of both Basingstoke and Newbury, together with good transport links via the M3 and M4. It is, therefore, well placed to serve the South Midlands, South West, South Coast and West London from this prime location.

Dedicated Geo-environmental and Geotechnical Team

Robert Jiagge is the Regional Manager, has been with Southern Testing for six years and is a Chartered Scientist. Robert has worked hard to build an impressive client base during the first year of business and his dedication and drive has helped to make ST Consult Thames Valley a great success.

Robert was joined by Sean Simms, a Senior Field Technician, a few months ago and Thomas Lees, an Engineering Geologist, will be joining the expanding team later in the year; all of this will greatly increase the in-house capabilities of the office, providing an even more efficient service to our clients.

As discussed, the office has already established a good and ever increasing client base for the Thames Valley region; with an expanding team, the aim is to service the South West Region as well.

Southern Testing are continuing to work through the Coronavirus (COVID-19) emergency, including carrying out site work where it is safe to do so.

The Government have given express support to the Construction sector and have issued specific guidance for working on site. The Construction Leadership Council have also issued guidance.

We have revised our travelling and working practices to ensure that our staff are protected, and to meet the particular requirements of the guidance as well as our own risk assessments. The guidance and our working practices are under constant review.

Most site investigation work can be undertaken safely under the current restrictions.

We are committed to helping all our clients, old and new, during this difficult time. Should you have any site investigation requirements, or wish to discuss a particular project, please do not hesitate to contact us.
