Utilities Searches

utilities-searchesDrawings which detail the location of underground or overhead utilities and any other known hazards are required for every project prior to commencement of any intrusive ground investigation work.

Our utilities searches will provide comprehensive information and plans, detailing gas and oil pipelines, electricity cables, telecommunication cables, mains water supplies and sewers.

The report will also include London Underground service information where relevant.

In order to ensure that all staff working on the project are aware of the main service routes from day one, we can also arrange for utilities to be detected and marked on the ground, or all proposed site investigation exploratory hole locations to be cleared of services before drilling commences. Located utilities can also be plotted on to an existing survey or an OS base plan.

Southern Testing are continuing to work through the Coronavirus (COVID-19) emergency, including carrying out site work where it is safe to do so.

The Government have given express support to the Construction sector and have issued specific guidance for working on site. The Construction Leadership Council have also issued guidance.

We have revised our travelling and working practices to ensure that our staff are protected, and to meet the particular requirements of the guidance as well as our own risk assessments. The guidance and our working practices are under constant review.

Most site investigation work can be undertaken safely under the current restrictions.

We are committed to helping all our clients, old and new, during this difficult time. Should you have any site investigation requirements, or wish to discuss a particular project, please do not hesitate to contact us.
