Ground Investigation & Site Investigation

gi-tp-smWe offer a comprehensive and versatile range of ground & site investigation techniques from simple trial pitting to more sophisticated drilling and in-situ testing methods.

We own and operate an extensive fleet of drilling and in-situ field testing equipment, including conventional, low disturbance and restricted access plant. The almost exclusive use of our own plant, equipment and skilled personnel allows us to design, effectively manage and tailor each project to our clients needs, and react rapidly to any unpredictable ground conditions. This flexibility helps us to ensure that any risks are managed promptly and are thus minimised.

Our Ground Investigation Teams

Site specific method statements and risk assessments detailing safe systems of work and minimising any environmental impact are produced for every project as standard, irrespective of size, meaning that we are able to adapt our services to suit difficult or restricted access sites.

Principal Contractor

We are experienced acting as Principal Contractor under the CDM2015 Regulations. Site managers and supervisors have received training under the CITB Site Managers or Site Supervisors Safety Training Schemes (SMSTS or SSSTS). We are members of the Construction Skills Competence Scheme and staff hold CSCS cards.

Meeting British and European Standards

All our ground investigation teams are fully trained in soil and rock logging to relevant British and European Standards as well as CIRIA574 for chalk. All works are carried out in accordance with BS 5930 ‘Code of Practice for Ground Investigations’ and BS10175 ‘Code of Practice for Investigation of Potentially Contaminated Sites’. In addition, our ground investigation teams have completed Cable Avoidance Tool, Asbestos Awareness, Site Safety, and First Aid training.
