Geophysical Survey & Ground Investigation – New School Buildings

As part of the work for a new Dining Hall for a primary school we were asked to undertake a ground investigation to provide information for the design of foundations and drainage.

A wartime air raid shelter had been located beneath the proposed footprint of the building. A geophysical survey was undertaken using a ground penetrating radar (GPR) technique in this area. This survey was interpreted as revealing a number of connecting linear features at depths of 1m to 2.5m.
