Graduate or Project Engineer (Site Investigation)

Background

Southern Testing has been established for more than 50 years providing geotechnical and geoenvironmental consultancy and ground investigation contracting services to the private and public sectors. We are ranked in the top 20 engineering consultants in the UK and probably in the top 5 geotechnical / geoenvironmental consultants.

Your Role and Qualifications

You will be qualified to at least degree level in civil or geotechnical engineering, engineering geology, geology, mining geology or environmental science.  The level of experience required for this position is flexible, but we envisage somewhere between 2 and 15 years in Site Investigation or a similar discipline.  This might be with another site investigation company, engineering consultancy or similar. You will be familiar with the contents of BS5930 and BS1377.

You will have the opportunity to help grow our new rural office at Hannington near Basingstoke in Hampshire.  You will be required, as a minimum, to carry out Phase 1 Desk Studies, specify and manage site investigations and write interpretative geotechnical and geoenvironmental reports.

The role will involve a significant amount of site work.  It would suit someone who likes outdoor work but is looking for a good mix of site work and office based report writing.

A full valid UK driving licence is required

What We Can Offer You

We are looking for high calibre candidates and in return we are offering a very generous package.  The benefits package will include:

  • Competitive Salary

  • 23 days’ leave on commencement, rising to 28 days’ annual leave.
  • Company car
  • Stakeholder pension scheme
