TfL London Overground Investigation
We have recently completed a major ground investigation at Silwood Triangle in London comprising over 50 trial pits and 14 cable percussive boreholes to depths of up to 20m. Groundwater and land gas monitoring wells were installed within the boreholes with subsequent monitoring and low flow water sampling.
The site was classified as ‘RED’ in accordance with the 2008 BDA publication ‘Guidance for Safe Intrusive Activities on Contaminated or Potentially Contaminated Land’ with allowances made onsite for safe working practices and the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)/ Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE).
Full time UXO supervision was provided by MACC International due to a medium to high risk from unexploded ordnance. The works were in connection with the design and construction of new railway sidings to accommodate new five-car rail fleet.
