Don Keeble Trust Award
The founding members of Southern Testing were three Civil Engineers who returned to the UK after having worked in Southern Africa. They were partners in a successful firm of Consulting Engineers and owned a materials testing laboratory in Northern Rhodesia (present day Zambia) which was aptly named Northern Testing Laboratories. They worked extensively on developing the roads and infrastructure in Central and Southern Africa.
Upon settling in the South of England, the partners were determined to put their collective knowledge and expertise to practice and set-up a materials testing service which would serve Southern England. Hence, Southern Testing Laboratories was founded in 1967.
One of the founders of Southern Testing, Mr Don Keeble, established a trust fund for Post Graduate to enable them to continue their studies with some financial contribution.
This year (2012 – 2013) we awarded the bursary to an Imperial College student who undertook an MSc in Engineering Geology.
Unfortunately, applications for the period of 2013-2014 are now closed; we will soon be announcing the details of the successful applicants.
