Power Distribution Station, London
Investigation within a ‘live’ working power distribution complex, situated within a Victorian industrial building. The aim of the project was to establish ground conditions for a proposed extension, and required the preparation of detailed health & safety plans for both internal and external works. Hand and machine dug trial pits were excavated to depths of up to 4m to expose existing foundations, and cable percussive boreholes drilled with restricted access rigs to depths up to 20m to prove underlying ground conditions.
