The contract involved the installation of two 20m deep 200mm diamater groundwater monitoring boreholes adjacent to the River Test Navigation, with the subsequent maintenance and monitoring of groundwater levels as part of an application for a dischage consent. Rotary DTHH drilling techniques were used, with flush controlled by the use of a gully emptier to ensure that drilling flush did not enter the watercourse. A number of data loggers were installed within these new and four other boreholes to allow water levels to be monitored over a 12 month period.
