Redevelopment of an existing terraced five-storey mansion house to include a basement extension with a swimming pool and removal of internal load bearing walls. Site investigation works included 20m deep boreholes drilled with a breakdown cable percussion rig, and a series of internal hand dug trial pits, each extended with percussive window sampling to establish the existing foundation profiles of external, internal and neighbouring party walls.

A ground conditions investigation for a proposed basement covering the whole footprint of the existing house. Window, windowless and mini flight auger boreholes drilled, with installation of piezometers to establish the depth of overlying Terrace Gravels and monitor groundwater. Geotechnical laboratory testing and report with recommendations for excavation and preliminary foundation design parameters.
