Asbestos Surveys

Asbestos and the Law

All public buildings and non-domestic properties are required to have a register of the asbestos contained within the buildings in order to manage it. All property owners/managers have a legal obligation (Duty of Care) to protect all employees and the public from any Asbestos Containing Materials (ACMs). Failure to comply will contravene Health and Safety Law.

Experience

We are experienced in the independent assessment and surveying of asbestos, and have successfully completed surveys for many industrial & commercial units, grandstands (leisure industry), churches, hospitals, care-homes and residential properties.

All our Surveyors have attained accreditation from the British Occupational Hygiene Society P402 Building Surveying and Bulk Sampling, and P405 Management of Asbestos in buildings and undertake Asbestos Surveys, in accordance with the Health & Safety Executive publication HSG264.

Management Surveys - This survey is undertaken to locate the presence and extent of ACMs that could be damaged or disturbed during occupancy, assess their condition and assist with the production of an Asbestos Register for the building.

Major Refurbishment or Demolition Surveys - This survey is required before any refurbishment or demolition work is undertaken, so as to identify all possible ACMs prior to obtaining a tender for specialist removal.

Brownfield Land Investigation - We also have considerable experience in the investigation of soils within brownfield sites to locate the presence and extent of ACMs and allow the design of safe investigation, remediation and verification works to obtain regulatory approval.
