Asbestos Surveys

Asbestos and the Law

All public buildings and non-domestic properties are required to have a register of the asbestos contained within the buildings in order to manage it. All property owners/managers have a legal obligation (Duty of Care) to protect all employees and the public from any Asbestos Containing Materials (ACMs). Failure to comply will contravene Health and Safety Law.

Asbestos Surveys & Management Plans


Southern Testing provide a reliable and personal service from a highly qualified and experienced multi-disciplined team of IEMA (Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment) accredited staff with a proven track record.

We have successfully completed surveys for industrial & commercial units, grandstand (leisure industry), churches, hospitals, carehomes and residential properties.

 

Experience


Southern Testing is experienced in independent assessment and surveying of asbestos. 

All our Surveyors have attained accreditation from the British Occupational Hygiene Society P402 Building Surveying and Bulk Sampling, and undertake Asbestos Surveys, in accordance to the Health & Safety Executive publication MDHS 100.

    • Type 1 - Location and assessment surveys (presumptive)

    • Type 2 - Standard sampling, identification and assessmnet surveys (sampling survey)

    • Type 3 - Full access sampling and identification survey (prior to demolition or major refurbishment survey)

We have also undertaken investigation and remedial design of numerous brownfield sites contaminated with ACM's. Southern Testing have overseen the remediation and provided validation to allow regulatory signoff for residential development.

We are certified to the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards for Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety Management reducing and minimising risk to our clients.
