
Southern Testing was formed in 1967 as materials testing laboratory, later providing ground investigation, and geotechnical design consultancy for clients in all sectors of the construction industry.
With the growth of brownfield development, and an ever-increasing awareness of environmental legislation in the late 1980’s, we launched a specialist environmental ground investigation, risk assessment, and remedial design service aimed primarily at developers.
Today, Southern Testing operates throughout the UK as one of the leading independent Ground Investigation, Geotechnical & Environmental Consultancies; with a head office in West Sussex, and a regional office (ST Consult) in Northampton.
Experience and Knowledge - We have completed more than 17,000 ground investigations over the last 42 years for all areas of development & construction, including residential, commercial, leisure, utilities, highways, healthcare and education.
Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental - We operate registered management systems and procedures to the latest ISO 9001, 14001 and OHAS 18001 Standards, and are CHAS and Worksafe accredited.
Innovation and Resources – We have our own experienced site staff, specialist investigation plant and equipment, which allows our Engineers to design, effectively manage and tailor each project to our clients needs, and react rapidly to any changing conditions. This flexibility helps to ensure that any risks are effectively and promptly managed and thus minimised.
Commitment – We are committed to providing a fully integrated service based unequivocally on a culture of clarity and honesty. Integral to our “Client Liaison Programme” is the appointment of an experienced dedicated “Project Manager” to provide a single point of contact, ensure that effective communication is maintained at all stages and allow for service performance development and monitoring.
